Safety Shower Recirculation Technology

Recirculation is the essential key to managing temperature and bacteria in potable water supplies to eyewash safety showers.

Heat Trap’s Safety Shower Recirculation Technology has three main aspects.

  1. The safety shower potable water is kept separate from other uses and is circulated throughout the plant and passes through the water treatment plant to maintain the required levels of disinfectant.
  2. Chillers are connected to the circulated safety shower potable main via stagnant branches which are automatically vented every week by the chiller and the stagnant water in the branch is replaced with fresh chlorinated potable water from the circulated potable main.
  3. The chillers are connected to multiple eyewash safety showers and potable water is circulated by the chiller from the safety showers back to the chiller where it passes through a UV sterilizer and a cooling circuit before returning to the safety showers.

Chillers

Heat Trap Chillers recirculate potable water from connect safety shower/s back to the chiller where the water passes through a UV steriliser and a cooling circuit before going back out to the safety shower. The chillers can be connected to up to six safety showers depending on the design ambient conditions and the overall heat gain from the combined flow and return lines between the chiller and the connected safety showers.

Chillers can be installed as part of your existing infrastructure or as part of a brand new installation. We have a variety of options depending on your needs and will work with you to design the best solution for your application.

SAFETY SHOWER CHILLER SC300LP
  • Connects to up to six eyewash safety showers
  • Supplies cool tepid water at 100LPM for 15 minutes
  • Continuously recirculates water through the safety showers back to the chiller
  • Continuously cools and sterilizes the circulated water

Self-contained chilled water storage and supply system providing TEPID water to plumbed emergency safety showers and face/eyewash stations in hot environments.

SAFETY SHOWER TANK CHILLER TSC
  • Self-contained chiller attaches to the side of the tank shower
  • 10A single phase 24VAC power supply
  • 2.5KW cooling in 50oC ambient temperature
  • Cools 2,000L from 45oC and stores it at 25oC.

Heat Trap Tank Shower Chillers are self-contained units designed to cool large volumes of stored water used for emergency safety showers in hot environments.

Flo-Thru

Heat Trap Flo-Thru eyewash safety showers are fully flushed and self-draining and are specifically designed to facilitate the HTS Safety Shower Recirculation Technology.

A fully flushed and self-draining combination safety shower comprising dual 3-way valves in a base manifold supplying tepid potable water to HAWS Axiom eye/facewash and HAWS deluge dispenser.
