HOW IT WORKS

Continuous circulation is the essential key to managing temperature and bacteria in Safety Showers

Heat Trap Chiller Systems circulate potable, tepid water in a ring main:

 

  1. from a chiller’s cooling circuit,
  2. to connected eyewash showers,
  3. through a UV sterilizer,
  4. back to the chiller’s cooling circuit, to maintain the ideal temperature.
  • By keeping potable water separate from other uses at a plant, the continuous circulation system is protected from back-flow contamination.
  • As the chiller is supplied from the potable main via a branch that may become stagnant, the branch is automatically vented every week (by the system), replacing potentially stagnant water with fresh chlorinated water from the potable main.

Our Standard Model, Safety Shower Chiller (SC300), can service multiple safety showers. The SC300 can supply water to one shower at a time, at a flow rate of 120L per min, for 15 mins (meeting AS477 Standards).
